Parker Dann was instructed to submit a full planning application for the replacement of an existing bungalow of approximately 96 M₂ set within the grounds of a Grade II listed building and within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We assembled a project team based on the clients brief for a contemporary and energy efficient dwelling. A striking modern dwelling of 253 M₂ was achieved which represents an increase in floorspace of 263 per cent. The ridge height also increased by 2.2 metres. In order to achieve this, we successfully persuaded the Council’s Planning Officer to overrule an objection from the Council’s Conservation Officer in relation to the setting of the listed building.
