Project Description

Parker Dann began promoting the land for residential development in 2013 taking the site over from another planning consultancy with a ‘undevelopable’ Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) rating. We instructed a Transport Consultant and engaged with the County Council to resolve the perceived access issue. This enabled the Local Planning Authority to update their SHELAA to ‘potentially suitable’. We then promoted the site simultaneously through the Lewes Local Plan Part 1 and the Plumpton Neighbourhood Plan submitting representations to influence the content of the plans at each stage. The site was allocated in the Plumpton Neighbourhood Plan for 16 new homes and the Examiner embraced many of our comments on the Plan. We then introduced the applicant to a developer who, with our support coordinating the planning application, obtained planning permission for 20 dwellings, exceeding Neighbourhood Plan allocation.
