Project Description

Parker Dann has advised the Ridgeview Wine Estate on the recent expansion of its site near Ditchling, West Sussex. We advised on the appointment and then led a consultant team that secured planning permission for a new 2,300 sq m winery building, a replacement vineyard store, new parking and a new waste water treatment plant. Where alterations to the approved scheme were required during detailed design development, we also dealt with the required amendments to the planning permission and assisted with the discharge of conditions attached to the permission.

A separate planning permission was secured by Parker Dann for the change of use of an existing dwelling on the Estate to provide guest accommodation and the construction of a new dwelling in place of an existing vineyard store.

In each case, Parker Dann gave initial advice to the Estate on the issues to address within the planning application submissions and carried out pre-application consultation with the local planning authority, Lewes District Council. We then advised how matters raised in the pre-application consultation should be addressed in the planning application submissions – working with the appointed architects and wider consultant team.

The site is in a sensitive location – being in defined countryside and partly within the South Downs National Park.
