Project Description
Parker Dann secured planning permission for a 27 hectare, 16.8 MWp Solar Farm on land south of Tanners Lane, Fareham, Hampshire. The planning application had to address a number of key issues including development within a defined Strategic Gap, impact on local aviation movements, impact on visual amenity and impact on local ecology – particularly nearby Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) that are part of the Solent and Southampton Water, and Portsmouth Harbour Special Protection Areas (SPA) and Ramsar sites.
The application was assembled by Parker Dann and we co-ordinated the preparation of supporting documentation that addressed all of these matters. Preparation work for the application included pre-application meetings with Planning Officers from Fareham Borough Council, pre-application consultation with statutory consultees and organising pre-application public consultation events.
